Belit Özükan comes from a media family and is the fourth generation in her family to receive higher education. She is an actress, filmmaker, TV host and producer, activist, animal and nature lover, and entrepreneur.
Born in Turkey, Belit carries a rich cultural heritage: Circassian, Albanian, eight generations of Istanbulite roots, as well as ancestry from Thessaloniki and Crete—a true synthesis of Western Anatolian identity. She is the first child of an Istanbul-born mother and an Izmir-born father, born in Ankara, and the older sister to a brother born six years later.
Her education began at Şişli Terakki High School, continued at Bilgi University (which she left before completing), and was crowned with graduation from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Beyond her formal studies, she humorously refers to “The School of Life” as her ongoing, informal education. 😊
After a 15-year career in television, she founded Belitişi during the pandemic period. Today, she lives and continues her creative journey in Bodrum Gümüşlük.
